Red-Tailed Hawk on Sample Road

On the way to Shaver Lake in March 2014 we came upon this Red-tailed Hawk feeding on a rabbit(?) that was stuck on the barbed-wire fence, we drove past, turned around, came back and he/she provided a perfect photo opportunity.

Peregrine Falcon with Rock Dove and Western Gull

Taking a break at the coast in December 2017, I was on the pier taking pictures of a Rock Dove and followed him to get bird-in-flight pics and a Peregrine Falcon decide to take him for lunch and a juvenile Western Gull trying to steal the meal. The following sequence is not luck, as a friend said, but the result of when Preparedness meets Opportunity.
